Senior Software Engineer
Cricket is a Senior Software Engineer works on our various web properties and data visualizations. Prior to joining UpMetrics, Cricket spent four years as a full-stack engineer at AFAR Magazine. Before that, he was the IT Director for the Jane Goodall Institute for seven years, having graduated from George Mason University with an integrated degree of Computer Science, Engineering, and New Media.
"I came to the Bay Area with one goal in mind: Make cool stuff on the Internet or die trying," Cricket says. "UpMetrics is a service/product that I wish existed when I was young and my favorite programs for the arts were systematically defunded. This is a much needed entity in today’s educational landscape."
Outside of work, Cricket loves music and has experience as a concert percussionist—that later came to include a tour in Drum & Bugle Corp., a year in a Steel and Salsa band, and even a performance in Carnegie Hall.
"This next year is a growth year from me; so I haven't been super active in the community. Upon occasion I mentor beginning developers. I also contribute to a few open source projects when I can."
