Greg WoodburnClient Manager
Greg arrived at UpMetrics having worked with the Clinton Global Initiative, Right To Play, USC Athletics, and many other organizations dedicated to social impact through education, sports, community development, and partnerships. "As a Client Manager, I build relationships with our clients and deliver tech-enabled consulting services to ensure that community impact organizations are best able to achieve their worthy missions. I manage a diverse client portfolio of schools, community program providers, and foundations across multiple product lines and premium services, all of which requires the ability to connect with and champion folks working in diverse ways toward elevating our shared values." At Right To Play, Greg partnered with value-aligned early childhood leaders and community-based organizations in under-supported NYC neighborhoods to unlock their existing capacity and sustainably improve education program quality. At the Clinton Global Initiative, he managed CGI Commitments to Action development, participant recruitment, coalition building, and programming focused on early childhood education. "I also founded the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Give Running, with a mission to bring together and build up youth through running and volunteerism," he explains, "which has provided me with experience creating an international platform that connects community impact organizations, businesses, foundations, and media." Greg earned his M.B.A. with honors from the USC Marshall School of Business. Prior to that, he graduated summa cum laude from USC with a B.A. in History and double minor in Entrepreneurship and Painting, among other honors including the highest student-athlete GPA. "I recently moved to Oakland from New York City, and am excited to be settling my roots here," he says. "I have a lot of friends and family in the Bay Area, including my young niece, Maya. The beauty of the oak savanna landscapes in this region never cease to amaze me. And I thoroughly love commuting by ferry, where the characteristics of the water offer new gifts every day. I am honored to be part of the UpMetrics team because I ardently believe that learning and community are forms of alchemy. The UpMetrics mission builds on my passion and experience with holistic approaches to create meaningful change. He continues: "I feel ideally prepared to help our clients successfully achieve their goals around program quality and other endeavors, whether their programs focus on athletics, the arts, or other forms of expanded-learning time." Greg is also a serious runner, and competed in the 2018 New York Marathon. "I've been a competitive distance runner since age seven. In college, I walked on the USC Men’s Track & Field Team for four years and was elected Distance Team Captain as a senior. I also fell in love with the process of painting and the arts through my life-changing teacher Patti Post. I recently began taking improv classes at an improv comedy theater in Oakland, which has been a wonderful new way to build community. "Running has also been a wonderful way to deepen my involvement locally, from being present in the moment as I go for runs around Lake Merritt, to signing up for community races and working out with friends. I am also researching recurring volunteer mentor opportunities." |
